About the Event
Watch this engaging and inspiring webinar featuring young success stories who have emerged from the U.S.-Egypt Higher Education Initiative Public University Scholarships (HEI) and the USAID Scholars Activity. These programs, aimed at cultivating the skills of nearly 700 students, have provided a robust academic foundation and comprehensive practical training, shaping educated, motivated graduates proficient in English. These graduates are now thriving in sectors where employers previously struggled to find qualified personnel.
The HEI is an undergraduate scholarship program that develops the capacity of almost 700 students through comprehensive academic and practical training that results in educated, motivated, English-speaking, college graduates who excel in the workplace, in fields in which employers currently have trouble hiring. Amideast and its partners have designed a comprehensive program of university study, English and professional-skills training, internships and study in the U.S., community service, and personal development activities to ensure that program graduates are prepared to meet the labor needs of the market. The Public University Scholarships Program is one component of the U.S.-Egypt Higher Education Initiative.
The USAID Scholars Activity, implemented by The American University in Cairo, offers a number of opportunities for four or five years of university scholarships to obtain bachelor's degrees at a number of Egyptian public and private universities. The program aims to support the economic, social and environmental development plans in Egypt by focusing on university studies in the fields of water, energy, agriculture and nursing by providing university education opportunities based on the foundations of knowledge, innovation and scientific research and characterized by excellence, experimental education, entrepreneurship and good preparation for the job market.
This webinar is a must-watch for educators, prospective students, and anyone interested in understanding how these initiatives are shaping the future of Egypt.
